Denver falls to Arizona in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Arizona Sundogs' Jordan Clendenning scored 3:46 into overtime to beat the Denver Cutthroats, 4-3 (OT).

Clendenning had a great game for Arizona, netting two goals.

The Sundogs relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Kevin Baker, Paul McIlveen and Jason Morgan took 18 of the team's 35 shots.

In addition, Arizona received assists from Bryan Cameron, who had two and Jeff Buvinow and Dion Campbell, who contributed one a piece.

Denver forced Arizona goalie Andrew Engelage to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

The Cutthroats were helped by Michael Schumacher, who finished with one goal. Schumacher scored on the power play 15:07 into the third period to make the score 3-3. A slashing penalty on McIlveen had put Denver on the power play. A.J. Gale picked up the assist. Denver additionally got points from Gale, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Robin Soudek also scored for Denver. More assists for Denver came via Lee Moffie, Steve Kaunisto, Troy Schwab, Cam Reid, and Garrett Bembridge, who each chipped in one.

The Sundogs' Engelage stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Arizona incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Kent Patterson rejected 31 shots on goal for the Cutthroats. Denver incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
