The Tulsa Oilers beat the Allen Americans, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 12:01 into the the first period by Brandon Coccimiglio proved to be the game winner, and powered Tulsa to the victory Kyle Bochek picked up the assist.

The Oilers were led by goalie Shane Madolora, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Madolora certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.3 entering the contest.

Tulsa was paced by Adam Pleskach, who had one goal. Pleskach scored 40 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Tulsa. Coccimiglio assisted on the tally.

Tulsa additionally got points from Coccimiglio, who also registered one goal and one assist. Tulsa also got a goal from Michel Beausoleil as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Ben Gordon and Jake Obermeyer, who each chipped in one.

Allen stifled the Oilers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Americans were held below their usual level of production. Allen averages 3.6 goals per game.

The Americans were led by Kale Kerbashian, who scored the team's only goal. Kerbashian scored on the power play 10:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Allen had taken the advantage when Tulsa's Macaulay got sent off for tripping. Jarret Lukin picked up the assist.

The Oilers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. David Brown recorded 22 saves for the Americans. Allen totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
