Allen downs Missouri in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Allen Americans' Trevor Hendrikx scored 18:01 into overtime to beat the Missouri Mavericks, 3-2 (OT).

The win by Allen broke a deadlock and gave the Americans a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Allen was paced by Hendrikx, who grabbed one goal.

The Americans' offense rang up 34 shots on Missouri's net. Allen relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 14 shots.

Jason Deitsch also scored for Allen. In addition, Allen received assists from Brian McMillin, who had two and Tyler Ludwig, Anthony Maiani, Darryl Bootland, and Todd Robinson, who contributed one a piece.

The Mavericks kept the Americans' goalie busy throughout the game, and Aaron Dell made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Missouri was helped by John-Scott Dickson, who finished with one goal. Dickson scored 9:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Missouri. Colt King provided the assist. Missouri also got a goal from Eric Meland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Dave Pszenyczny, Kellen Tochkin, and Sebastien Thinel, who each chipped in one.

Allen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mike Clemente made 31 saves for the Mavericks on 34 shots. Missouri incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
