Arizona falls to Wichita in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Wichita Thunder's Erick Lizon scored 4:00 into overtime to beat the Arizona Sundogs, 2-1 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Arizona faces elimination next time out.

The Sundogs were stymied by Wichita netminder Torrie Jung, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. The solid play of Jung will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.68.

The Thunder were led by Lizon, who grabbed one goal.

Wichita's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Arizona power plays. The Thunder kept Arizona's goalie busy throughout the game, and David Brown made 42 saves on 44 shots.

Wichita also got a goal from Kevin Young as well. In addition, Wichita received assists from Gregor Hanson, RG Flath, and Travis Wight, who each chipped in one.

The Sundogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances.

Arizona was led by Chad Nehring, who scored the team's only goal. Nehring scored 7:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Ron Meyers assisted on the tally.

Wichita ended with 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and two majors. The Sundogs ended with 32 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and two majors.
