The Allen Americans' Darryl Bootland scored 21 seconds into overtime to beat the Fort Worth Brahmas, 4-3 (OT).

Bootland was all over the ice for Allen, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Bootland scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Allen. The Americans had taken the advantage when Fort Worth's Adam Hogg got sent off for hooking. Tyler Ludwig picked up the assist. Bootland's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Allen with 19:39 left in overtime. Kale Kerbashian provided the assist.

Allen's penalty kill excelled, as the Americans gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The 28 shots that Allen put on net surpassed the Americans' average of 23.0 shots per game this season. Allen's defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking 12 shots. The Americans could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

Allen also got points from Ludwig, who also had one goal and one assist. Trevor Hendrikx also scored for Allen. More assists for Allen came via Jason Deitsch, who had one and Adam Pineault, who had two.

By firing 28 shots on goal, the Brahmas exceeded the 18.7 shots they average per game this year. Fort Worth was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 34 penalty minutes.

The Brahmas were led by Tomas Klempa, who registered two goals and one assist. Klempa scored the first of his two goals at 7:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ross Rouleau assisted on the tally. Klempa's next tally made the score 3-2 Fort Worth with 7:46 left in the third period. Fort Worth played down a man on Rouleau's abuse of officials. Cole Ruwe picked up the assist. Fort Worth additionally got points from Rouleau, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Phil Fox, Sy Nutkevitch, and Austin Mayer, who each chipped in one.

Allen's Steve Silverthorn stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Americans registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. Kristofer Westblom made 24 saves for the Brahmas on 28 shots.
