A stellar performance between the pipes by Danny Battochio helped Rapid City defeat the Allen Americans, 3-1. Rapid City was led by Jared Brown, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Brown scored 13:41 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. Jesse Schultz picked up the assist. Rapid City stifled Allen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rapid City also got points from Winston Day Chief, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Rapid City also got a goal from Rusty Masters as well. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Justin Faryna and Michael Couch, who each chipped in one. The Americans put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rapid City to score on any of its three power plays. Allen's offense operated below it season average.
