Rapid City hangs on, beats Arizona 2-0

Riley Weselowski scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and Rapid City held off the challenges of the Arizona Sundogs in a tough 2-0 win.

A goal 13:38 into the the first period by Weselowski proved to be the game winner, and powered Rapid City to the victory Jesse Schultz picked up the assist.

Tim Boron spearheaded the defensive effort for Rapid City, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 26 saves for the shutout. Boron managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.52 prior to the game.

Rapid City was paced by Weselowski, who grabbed one goal.

Rapid City was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. Rapid City gives up 2.7 goals on average per game.

Rapid City also got points from Jared Brown, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Winston Day Chief, who had one.

Arizona stifled Rapid City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sundogs were held below their usual level of production. Arizona averages 2.6 goals per game.

The Sundogs were led by Chad Nehring, who took four shots.
