Missouri wins tough contest against Quad City, 4-3i-wireless Center Tue, Feb 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Missouri Mavericks escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Quad City Mallards. Missouri gained the winning advantage on a goal by John-Scott Dickson 8:22 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Dickson had two goals and one assist to lead the Mavericks. Dickson scored the first of his two goals short handed at 8:27 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Missouri was on a disadvantage when Blake Forsyth went off the ice for roughing. Trevor Kell picked up the assist. Dickson's next tally short handed made the score 4-3 Missouri with 11:38 left in the third period. The Mavericks had taken the advantage when Quad City's Mike Hellyer got sent off for goalie interference. Kell provided the assist. Missouri put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.2 it averages per game. Missouri also got points from Kellen Tochkin, who also had one goal and one assist. Missouri also got a goal from Andrew Courtney as well. More assists for Missouri came via Ryan Jardine and Sebastien Thinel, who each chipped in one. The Mallards were led by Mickey Lang, who registered one goal and two assists. Lang scored on the power play 14:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Quad City.
