The Tulsa Oilers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Missouri Mavericks on the way to a 6-4 win.

Tulsa made the score 6-3 on a goal by Sean Erickson at 12:06 in the third period, and Missouri got as close as 6-4 when Andrew Courtney scored 18:59 into the third period.

The Oilers got the win thanks to a great game by Ben Gordon, who had one goal and five assists. Gordon scored on the power play 15:25 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Missouri. A slashing penalty on David Simoes had put Tulsa on the power play. Erickson assisted on the tally.

With 30 shots on target during the contest, the Oilers exceeded the 19.3 shots they average per game this year. Tulsa outdid its season average for goals scored. The Oilers have scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Tulsa got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.
