Rapid City and the Fort Worth Brahmas both failed to score in overtime, but Rapid City won the game 3-2 (2-0 SO) after Jared Brown's deciding goal in the shootout. The shootout featured seven attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Rapid City got a shootout goal from Brown.Rapid City came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Rapid City fell behind 2-1 after a goal by Fort Worth's Brendon Hodge at 3:07 in the second period. Rapid City knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jesse Schultz at 8:33 in the third period. Rapid City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. By firing 27 shots on goal, Rapid City exceeded the 24.5 shots it averages per game this year. Scott Wray also scored for Rapid City. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Riley Weselowski, Brown, and Damian Surma, who each chipped in one. The Brahmas were helped by Shawn Szydlowski, who finished with one goal. Szydlowski scored 11:02 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sy Nutkevitch provided the assist.
