The game between the Wichita Thunder and the Tulsa Oilers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Wichita emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Thunder gained the winning advantage on a goal by Matt Summers 5:21 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

In the losing effort, Tulsa was led by Ryan Menei, who had two goals. Menei scored the first of his two goals at 1:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ben Gordon provided the assist. Menei's next tally made the score 2-2 with 16:28 left in the third period. Michel Beausoleil assisted on the tally.

Wichita put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tulsa to score on any of its four power plays. The 46 shots that the Thunder put on net surpassed Wichita's average of 27.7 shots per game this season.

The Oilers struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Thunder to score two power play goals on three chances. Tulsa's offense was helped by the efforts of its defensemen, who managed to put 17 shots on net during the game. The Oilers' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 19.4 shots per game they average.

Torrie Jung recorded 33 saves for Wichita. The Thunder incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tulsa's Shane Madolora stopped 43 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Oilers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
