The Denver Cutthroats tried their best to erase a five-goal deficit, but the Bloomington Blaze would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4. Bloomington made the score 6-1 on a goal by Jared Walker at 18:36 in the second period, and Denver got as close as 6-4 when A.J. Gale scored 11:43 into the third period. The Blaze got the win behind a great game by Nicklas Lindberg, who had two goals and one assist. Lindberg scored the first of his two goals at 11:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1.
