Allen falls to Fort Worth in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Gregg Eskedjian gave the Fort Worth Brahmas a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Allen Americans when he scored 2:55 into the extra period.

Fort Worth was paced on offense by John Snowden and Eskedjian, who combined for four points. Snowden grabbed two goals and one assist and Eskedjian also added one goal.

The the Brahmas penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled four minors and three majors for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 13.0 minutes per game Fort Worth had been spending in the box. The Brahmas relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Austin Mayer, Eskedjian and Chad Woollard took 19 of the team's 35 shots.

In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Sy Nutkevitch, who had two and Tomas Klempa and Adam Hogg, who contributed one a piece.

Allen was often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and three majors for 57 minutes in penalty time. The Americans surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game.

Allen was led by Kale Kerbashian, who tallied two goals. Kerbashian scored the first of his two goals at 6:34 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Allen. Brian McMillin assisted on the tally. Kerbashian's next tally made the score 3-3 with 4:41 left in the third period. The Americans had gained a power play chance when Hogg was whistled for boarding. McMillin provided the assist. Adam Pineault also scored for Allen. More assists for Allen came via Brett Skinner, who had two and Drew Daniels and Steve Silverthorn, who each chipped in one.

Fort Worth's Kristofer Westblom stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Brahmas registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. Silverthorn rejected 31 shots on goal for Allen. The Americans registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
