Missouri beats Tulsa 1-0 as Clemente gains shutout

The Missouri Mavericks used a sparkling performance by Mike Clemente to take down the Tulsa Oilers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Missouri's 1-0 shutout victory.

Ryan Jardine's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 12:20 in the second period. The Mavericks earned a power play opportunity when Ben Gordon was put in the box for handling the puck. John-Scott Dickson provided the assist.

Missouri was paced by Jardine, who had one goal.

The Mavericks stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Missouri could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Mavericks put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Missouri relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Andrew Courtney, Kenton Miller and Kellen Tochkin took 18 of the team's 34 shots.

In addition, Missouri received assists from Podge Turnbull, who had one.

The Oilers were held below their usual level of production. Tulsa averages 2.8 goals per game. The Oilers relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Gordon, Sean Erickson and Ryan Cramer took 19 of the team's 35 shots.

Clemente recorded 35 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Shane Madolora rejected 33 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
