Quad City rides Conway to victory over Wichita, 3-1

The Quad City Mallards relied on the sparkling performance of Neil Conway in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Wichita Thunder.

Quad City was led by Mike Stinziani, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Stinziani scored 16:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Quad City. Anthony Perdicaro picked up the assist.

The Mallards' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wichita power plays.

Quad City also got a goal from Patrik Levesque as well. More assists for Quad City came via Brett Robinson, Obi Aduba, and Jason Dixon, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Thunder were held below their usual level of production. Wichita puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. The 30 shots that the Thunder put on net surpassed Wichita's average of 26.5 shots per game this season.

The Thunder were led by David Inman, who scored the team's only goal. Inman scored 5:56 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Les Reaney assisted on the tally.

Quad City's Conway stopped 29 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Mallards incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kevin Regan made 21 saves for Wichita on 23 shots. The Thunder incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
