Jamie MacQueen scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Denver Cutthroats picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (2-0 SO) win over the Fort Worth Brahmas.

The shootout featured seven attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Denver got a shootout goal from MacQueen.

The Cutthroats came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Denver fell behind 3-2 after a goal by Fort Worth's Sy Nutkevitch at 16:51 in the third period. The Cutthroats knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Dean Strong at 18:26 in the third period.

The Brahmas were unable to stop Denver from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cutthroats eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Denver was helped by Ben Wilson, who finished with one goal. Wilson scored 5:34 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brad Smyth picked up the assist. Denver additionally got points from Troy Schwab, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Denver came via A.J. Gale, who had one.

Fort Worth stifled the Cutthroats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Brahmas' defensemen bolstered Fort Worth's offensive attack, as they bombarded Kent Patterson with 15 shots. The Brahmas put 37 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.1 they average per game.

Fort Worth was helped by Ross Rouleau, who grabbed one goal. Rouleau scored 12:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fort Worth. Brendon Hodge assisted on the tally. Fort Worth also got points from Nutkevitch, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Phil Fox also scored for Fort Worth. In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Erik Spady, Nick Schneider, and Tomas Klempa, who contributed one a piece.

Patterson rejected 34 shots on goal for Denver. The Cutthroats incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Kristofer Westblom recorded 27 saves for the Brahmas. Fort Worth incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
