The Quad City Mallards almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Missouri Mavericks managed to pull out a 5-3 win in the end.

Missouri led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Mavericks' Kenton Miller's scored at 16:59 in the first period to put Missouri up 3-0.

Andrew Courtney had two goals to lead the Mavericks to victory. Courtney found the back of the net 16:23 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Missouri and again while 13:26 into the third to make the score 4-3 Missouri.

By firing 29 shots on goal, Missouri exceeded the 22.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Missouri additionally got points from Sebastien Thinel, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Missouri also got a goal from Blake Forsyth as well. More assists for Missouri came via Ryan Jardine, who had two and Brandon Smith, Dave Pszenyczny, Brian Bicek, Colten Hayes, and John-Scott Dickson, who contributed one a piece.

Quad City was led by Mike Hellyer, who tallied two goals. Hellyer scored the first of his two goals at 18:40 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Missouri. Anthony Perdicaro picked up the assist. Hellyer's next tally made the score 3-3 with 18:17 left in the third period. Mickey Lang provided the assist. Shayne Toporowski also scored for Quad City. Other players who recorded assists for Quad City were Derek Matheson, Jason Dixon, Matt Boyd, and Mitch McColm, who each chipped in one.

Mike Clemente recorded 20 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and had no power play opportunities. The Mallards took out John Murray after he had made five saves and installed Jimmy Spratt in goal, where he finished with 19 saves and the loss. Quad City was hit with 10 minutes in penalty time with two majors.
