Tulsa outlasts Arizona, 4-3BOK Center Sun, Dec 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Tulsa Oilers escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Sundogs. Tulsa gained the winning advantage on a goal by Michel Beausoleil 9:39 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. The Oilers were paced by Beausoleil, who finished with one goal. Tulsa put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Arizona to score on any of its three power plays. The Oilers relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Beausoleil, Ben Gordon and Ryan Cramer took 14 of the team's 26 shots. Tulsa additionally got points from Gordon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ryan Menei, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Tulsa came via Jake Trask, who had one and Mike Ullrich and Drew Fisher, who each chipped in two. The Sundogs put 37 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.3 they average per game. Arizona was helped by Pascal Morency, who racked up one goal. Morency scored 1:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Mario Larocque assisted on the tally. Arizona also got a goal from Jake Hauswirth as well. Other players who recorded assists for Arizona were Adam Smyth, Kevin Petovello, Jeff Kyrzakos, Chad Nehring, and Cody Purves, who contributed one a piece. Mike Garman made 32 saves before being replaced by Ian Keserich, who took the win and made two saves. Tulsa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Adam Russo made 22 saves for the Sundogs on 26 shots. Arizona incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
