The Quad City Mallards climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Tulsa Oilers, 4-3.

Quad City never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Mallards trailed 3-0 after a goal by Tulsa's Ryan Menei at 9:09 in the first period. Quad City knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Patrik Levesque at 7:10 in the second period. The Mallards scored the game winner at 16:58 in the second period on a goal by Levesque.

John Murray frustrated the Oilers' offense all game, and stopped 26 shots en route to a shutout. Murray certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.29 entering the contest.

Quad City stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mallards' offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 29.0 shots per game they average.

Quad City additionally got points from Brett Robinson, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Mike Stinziani, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Quad City came via Obi Aduba, who had two and Mickey Lang, Derek Matheson, Mike Hellyer, and Mitch McColm, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Tulsa relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Ben Gordon, Menei and David Beauregard took 16 of the team's 31 shots.
