Fort Worth survives Tulsa comeback, wins 5-4

The Tulsa Oilers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Fort Worth Brahmas would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

A goal by Chad Woollard put Fort Worth up 5-3 in the third period, but Tulsa pulled to within one on Michel Beausoleil's tally 19:08 into the third period.

The Brahmas pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 10 penalty minutes.

Fort Worth bested its season scoring average. The Brahmas average 2.4 goals per game. By firing 35 shots on goal, Fort Worth exceeded the 28.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Fort Worth additionally got points from Phil Fox, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Adam Hogg, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Shawn Szydlowski also scored for Fort Worth. In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Ross Rouleau, who had two and Brad Fogal, Erik Spady, Joe Tolles, and TJ Fox, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Gary Steffes, Ben Gordon and Beausoleil took 17 of the team's 23 shots.

More assists for Tulsa came via David Beauregard, who had two and Gio Flamminio, Sean Erickson, and Ryan Menei, who each chipped in one.

Brad Fogal made 19 saves for the Brahmas on 23 shots. Fort Worth registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Tulsa's Dan Bakala stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Oilers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
