Fort Worth falls apart in second, loses to Wichita, 6-2

The Fort Worth Brahmas allowed the Wichita Thunder to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-2.

Wichita got the win behind a great game by Les Reaney, who had two goals and one assist. Reaney scored the first of his two goals at 12:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Flanigan picked up the assist. Reaney's next tally made the score 2-1 Wichita with 5:03 left in the first period. Nathan Lutz assisted on the tally.

Fort Worth's power play was ineffective against the Thunder's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Wichita was below its usual level of shot production, taking 22 shots compared to the 31.7 the Thunder average.

Wichita also got points from Gregor Hanson, who also registered one goal and two assists. Wichita also got a goal from David Inman as well. More assists for Wichita came via Chad Painchaud, RG Flath, Kevin Young, and Andrew Martens, who contributed one a piece.

The Brahmas stifled Wichita's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Fort Worth was led by Adam Hogg, who tallied one goal and one assist. Hogg scored 10:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fort Worth. Tomas Klempa also scored for Fort Worth. In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Phil Fox, who had one.

Torrie Jung rejected 21 shots on goal for the Thunder. Wichita incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Brad Fogal made eight saves before being replaced by Larry Sterling, who took the loss and made eight saves. The Brahmas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
