Behind a great game by Mario Boilard, who had two goals, the Denver Cutthroats defeated the Fort Worth Brahmas, 7-1. Boilard found the back of the net 5:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Denver and again while 16:10 into the first to make the score 3-1 Denver.Denver was led by goalie Kieran Millan, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. Millan certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.88 entering the contest. The Cutthroats made Fort Worth's netminders to work without much rest, taking 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Brad Fogal made 20 stops and Larry Sterling made six. Denver found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Cutthroats average 4.2 goals per game. Denver's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Denver additionally got points from Gabriel Beaupre, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brad Smyth, who also registered one goal and one assist, and A.J. Gale, who also had one goal and one assist. Phil Tesoriero also scored for Denver. More assists for Denver came via Troy Schwab, Ben Wilson, Brett Lutes, Kyle Quincey, Joel Chouinard, and Jean-Philipp Chabot, who each chipped in one and Markus Lauridsen and Jamie MacQueen, who contributed two a piece. The Cutthroats were unable to stop the Brahmas from sending pucks towards the net, and Fort Worth eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Brahmas were led by Ian Boots, who scored the team's only goal. Boots scored 6:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Erik Spady picked up the assist. Denver avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Fort Worth ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
