Sebastien Trudeau scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Bloomington Blaze picked up the extra point in a 5-4 (3-2 SO) win over the Quad City Mallards.

The shootout featured 22 attempts between both teams. Quad City got shootout goals from Mike Stinziani and Jeremy Boyer. Bloomington also got shootout goals from Steve Makway and David Gilbert.

The Blaze overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Bloomington was down 2-0 after a power play goal by the Mallards' Patrik Levesque at 16:50 in the first period. The Blaze tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Levesque at 18:38 in the third period.

Bloomington was paced on offense by Gilbert and Trudeau, who combined for seven points. Gilbert finished with one goal and three assists and Trudeau also notched two goals and one assist.

The 41 shots that the Blaze put on net surpassed Bloomington's average of 35.0 shots per game this season.

Bloomington additionally got points from Trudeau, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Tyler Gron, who also had one goal and one assist, and Jesse Dudas, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington were Travis Granbois and Nicklas Lindberg, who contributed one a piece.
