Mickey Lang gave the Quad City Mallards a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Tulsa Oilers when he scored 4:28 into the extra period. Lang was all over the ice for Quad City, as he grabbed two goals in the win. The Mallards stifled Tulsa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Quad City also got points from Obi Aduba, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Patrik Levesque, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Quad City received assists from Jason Dixon, who had two and Jared Lavender, Eddie Effinger, and Shayne Toporowski, who contributed one a piece. The Oilers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. With 38 shots on target during the contest, Tulsa exceeded the 29.2 shots it averages per game this year. The Oilers were led by Gary Steffes, who racked up one goal and one assist. Steffes scored 2:50 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Michel Beausoleil assisted on the tally. Tulsa also got a goal from David Beauregard as well. More assists for Tulsa came via Ben Gordon, Ryan Menei, and Dan Bakala, who each chipped in one. Quad City's Joe Palmer stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Mallards incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bakala rejected 24 shots on goal for Tulsa. The Oilers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
