The Tulsa Oilers allowed the Wichita Thunder to net five goals during the second period and fell, 8-2.

Matt Summers had one goal and three assists to lead Wichita. Summers scored on the power play 4:09 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wichita. The Thunder had gained a power play chance when Ryan Cramer was whistled for tripping. RG Flath assisted on the tally.

Wichita surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Thunder average 5.5 goals per game. The defensemen of Wichita were also effective in Tulsa's zone, and came away with two goals. The Thunder's offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 32.5 shots per game they average.

Wichita also got points from Gregor Hanson, who also finished with two goals and three assists to lead the team in points, Flath, who also grabbed two goals and two assists, and Jarred Mohr, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Wichita also got a goal from David Inman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Chad Painchaud, Matt Boyd, Neil Trimm, and Andrew Martens, who each chipped in one.

By firing 26 shots on goal, the Oilers exceeded the 23.0 shots they average per game this year.

Tulsa was helped by Matt Register, who racked up one goal. Register scored 9:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tulsa. Matt Gingera provided the assist.
