Wichita downs Texas in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Matt Robinson gave the Wichita Thunder a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Texas Brahmas when he scored 4:44 into the extra period.

The win by Wichita clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Thunder were led by Robinson, who grabbed one goal.

Wichita put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Texas to score on any of its four power plays.

Wichita additionally got points from Chris Chappell, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Chris Greene also scored for Wichita. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Kevin Seibel, Kevin Young, and Matt Summers, who each chipped in one.

The Brahmas' offense rang up 34 shots on the Thunder's net.

Texas was helped by Adam Hogg, who had one goal. Hogg scored 4:20 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Chad Woollard assisted on the tally. Texas also got a goal from Brendon Hodge as well. More assists for Texas came via Ross Rouleau, Brett Findlay, and TJ Fox, who contributed one a piece.

Adam Russo made 32 saves for Wichita on 34 shots. The Thunder incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brad Fogal rejected 25 shots on goal for the Brahmas. Texas ended with 29 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Brahmas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Erik Spady was ejected from the game.
