Wichita downs Rio Grande Valley, 2-1

Chris Greene finished with two points to lead the Wichita Thunder to a 2-1 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.

The win gave Wichita a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Rio Grande Valley was unable to stop the Thunder from sending pucks towards the net, and Wichita eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Wichita also got a goal from Dustin Donaghy as well. In addition, Wichita received assists from Daniel Tetrault, who had one and Chris Chappell, who had two.

The Killer Bees excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Rio Grande Valley was led by Tomas Klempa, who scored the team's only goal. Klempa scored on the power play 17:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rio Grande Valley. The Killer Bees had taken the advantage when the Thunder's Donaghy got sent off for high sticking. Scott Balan assisted on the tally.

Adam Russo rejected 19 shots on goal for Wichita. The Thunder incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. John Murray recorded 41 saves for Rio Grande Valley. The Killer Bees incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
