The Missouri Mavericks and the Bloomington Blaze were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Missouri made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brandon Smith secured the win for the Mavericks with a goal in the third period. Missouri was sparked by Smith, who grabbed one goal. The Blaze incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
