Huge game by Reeder boosts Rapid City over Allen, 5-2

Rapid City's Konrad Reeder had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over Allen.

Reeder found the back of the net on the power play 3:51 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Rapid City and again while 19:56 into the third to make the score 5-2 Rapid City.

Rapid City forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Rapid City had been spending in the box. Rapid City stifled Allen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Rapid City additionally got points from Scott Wray, who also had one goal and two assists and Jesse Schultz, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Rapid City also got a goal from Collin Circelli as well. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Jeff Kyrzakos, Shawn Limpright, Dave Grimson, and Andrew Smale, who each chipped in one.

Allen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 27 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.2 shots per game it averages.

Allen was helped by Joshua Hepditch, who registered one goal. Hepditch scored 4:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Allen. Jeff Martens assisted on the tally. In addition, Allen received assists from Erik Adams, who had one and Mark Nebus, who had two.

Tim Boron recorded 25 saves for Rapid City. Rapid City registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Allen's Rejean Beauchemin stopped 17 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Allen totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-4 on the power play.
