The game between Rapid City and the Arizona Sundogs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Rapid City emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Jeff Kyrzakos' goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Konrad Reeder had a great game for Rapid City, netting two goals. Reeder found the back of the net 13:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rapid City and again while 17:36 into the third to make the score 2-2.

The 29 shots that Rapid City put on net surpassed Rapid City's average of 25.5 shots per game this season.

Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Shawn Limpright and Michael Couch, who each chipped in two.

The Arizona penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. The Sundogs had been averaging 22.0 minutes in penalties per game. Arizona put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rapid City to score on any of its five power plays. By firing 33 shots on goal, the Sundogs exceeded the 29.8 shots they average per game this year.

Arizona was helped by Olivier Proulx, who racked up one goal. Proulx scored on the power play 14:40 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Sundogs had gained a power play chance when Riley Weselowski was whistled for interference. Samson Mahbod assisted on the tally. Arizona also got a goal from Kevin Petovello as well. More assists for Arizona came via Craig Macdonald and Nathan ONabigon, who contributed one a piece.

Rapid City's Tim Boron stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Rapid City ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. Scott Reid rejected 26 shots on goal for Arizona. The Sundogs registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Arizona, Tyler Butler was ejected from the game.
