The Laredo Bucks took home the win against the Bloomington Blaze, 6-3. Laredo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bloomington power plays. The Bucks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Laredo has scored at the pace of 2.7 goals per game during the current campaign. By firing 38 shots on goal, the Bucks exceeded the 24.6 shots they average per game this year. Laredo was helped by Matt Boyd, who finished with one goal and two assists. Boyd scored 8:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Neil Trimm provided the assist. Laredo additionally got points from Ryan Sparling, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Erik Boisvert, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Laredo also got a goal from Greg Moore as well. In addition, Laredo received assists from Adam Rivet, who had one and Rusty Masters, who had three. Bloomington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Blaze put 38 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.9 they average per game. Bloomington was led by Jason Dale, who had two goals. Dale scored the first of his two goals at 14:19 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Vladimir Nikiforov assisted on the tally. Dale's next tally made the score 3-2 Bloomington with 2:43 left in the first period. Kyle Laughlin picked up the assist. Omar Pacha also scored for Bloomington. More assists for Bloomington came via Craig Cescon, who had one and Jerry Pollastrone, who had two. Ryan Rondeau rejected 35 shots on goal for the Bucks. Laredo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Blaze's Brian Mahoney-Wilson stopped 32 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Bloomington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
