The Fort Wayne Komets tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Bloomington Blaze would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

A goal by Travis Granbois put Bloomington up 5-2 in the second period, but Fort Wayne pulled to within one on Jean-Michel Rizk's tally 8:13 into the third period.

The Blaze found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Bloomington has scored at the pace of two goals per game during the current campaign. By firing 39 shots on goal, the Blaze exceeded the 29 shots they average per game this year.

The Komets forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and three majors for 55 minutes in penalty time. Fort Wayne registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Team's Molle and Boucher were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
