Quad City downs Allen in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Quad City Mallards pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Allen Americans on a clutch goal by Mike Stinziani.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Allen faces elimination next time out.

Quad City was led by Stinziani, who grabbed one goal. Stinziani scored 16:12 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Quad City. Justin Fox picked up the assist.

The Mallards' offense rang up 32 shots on the Americans' net.

Quad City additionally got points from Jordan Mayer, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Michael Monfredo also scored for Quad City. In addition, Quad City received assists from Darren McMillan, Jeff Lee, and Jim McKenzie, who each chipped in one.

Allen kept Quad City's goalie busy throughout the game, and Thomas Heemskerk made 45 saves on 47 shots.

The Americans were led by Darryl Bootland, who registered one goal and one assist. Bootland scored 8:57 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Allen. Spencer Asuchak provided the assist. Allen also got a goal from Alex Lavoie as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Jamie Schaafsma and Cain Franson, who contributed one each.

The Mallards incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bryan Pitton recorded 29 saves for Allen. The Americans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
