Huge game by Larke boosts Tulsa over Denver, 6-2Denver Coliseum Fri, Apr 11, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Matthew Larke had one goal and three assists to lead the Tulsa Oilers to a 6-2 victory over the Denver Cutthroats. Larke scored 17:55 into the second period to make the score 6-0 Tulsa. Kyle Bochek picked up the assist. Larke dished an assist on Ryan Cramer's goal that made the score 1-0 Tulsa at 4:05 into the first period. He then added assists on Bochek's goal at 8:27 into the first and on Michel Beausoleil's goal at 8:14 into the second.With the win, Tulsa evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. The Oilers' penalty kill excelled, as Tulsa gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. The Oilers forced Cutthroats' goaltenders to work in net, totaling 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Kent Patterson made 10 stops and John Griggs made 19. Tulsa stifled Denver's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Tulsa additionally got points from Adam Pleskach, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Bochek, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Cramer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Drew Fisher also scored for Tulsa. More assists for Tulsa came via Nathan Lutz, who had two and Todd Robinson and Blair Macaulay, who contributed one each. The Oilers were unable to stop the Cutthroats from sending pucks towards the net, and Denver eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The Cutthroats were led by Mikael Tam, who took one shot. Tulsa's Shane Madolora stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Oilers totaled 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Denver ended with 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and two majors.
