The Arizona Sundogs' Johan Ryd scored 10:32 into overtime to beat the Missouri Mavericks, 4-3 (OT). After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Missouri faces elimination next time out. Arizona kept the Mavericks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Shane Owen made 52 saves on 56 shots. The Sundogs were led by Mike Forney, who grabbed two goals. Forney scored the first of his two goals at 7:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. Matt McCready assisted on the tally. Forney's next tally made the score 2-1 Arizona with 6:38 left in the second period. Arizona had gotten the advantage when Missouri's Matt Stephenson was sent off for cross checking. Kevin Baker provided the assist. Justin Pender also scored for Arizona. More assists for Arizona came via David Rutherford, who had three and Paul McIlveen and Alex Tuckerman, who contributed one each. The Mavericks forced the Sundogs goalie Andrew Engelage to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Missouri was led by Pete Massar, who racked up two goals. Massar scored the first of his two goals at 7:23 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Henrik Odegaard picked up the assist. Massar's next tally made the score 3-2 Missouri with 6:23 left in the third period. Trevor Kell assisted on the tally. Missouri also got a goal from Eric Castonguay as well. In addition, Missouri received assists from Mike Ramsay and Colten Hayes, who each chipped in one. Engelage rejected 45 shots on goal for Arizona. The Sundogs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Mavericks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
