Huge game by Thinel boosts Missouri over Allen, 5-2

The Missouri Mavericks' Sebastien Thinel had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Allen Americans.

Thinel got on the board by slotting home a goal 7:22 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Missouri. Mike Ramsay picked up the assist. Thinel dished an assist on Trevor Kell's goal that made the score 2-1 Missouri at 52 seconds into the third period. He added another helper on Eric Castonguay's goal that made the score 4-2 Missouri at 14:56 into the third period.

Missouri put 41 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.4 it averages per game.

Missouri additionally got points from Castonguay, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and John-Scott Dickson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Missouri received assists from Jeff Buvinow and Colt King, who each chipped in one.

Allen stifled the Mavericks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Americans' offense was clicking better than usual and put 36 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.5 shots per game they average.

Allen was helped by Alex Lavoie, who registered one goal. Lavoie scored 2:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ross Rouleau assisted on the tally. Allen also got a goal from Daniel Tetrault as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Tyler Ludwig, Mike Berube, and Jonathon Zion, who contributed one a piece.

Shane Owen rejected 34 shots on goal for Missouri. The Mavericks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mark Guggenberger recorded 36 saves for the Americans. Allen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
