The Wichita Thunder's Andrew Martens scored 1:14 into overtime to beat the Denver Cutthroats, 4-3 (OT).

Wichita overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Thunder fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Denver's Troy Schwab at 27 seconds in the second period. Wichita tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Ian Lowe at 18:55 in the third period.

The Thunder were led by Martens, who had one goal and one assist.

Wichita relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 15 shots. The Thunder's offense was clicking better than usual and put 32 shots on goal during the game, better than the 26.8 shots per game they average.

Wichita also got points from Tomas Klempa, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Mike Wilson also scored for Wichita. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Jon Booras, who had three and Jesse Dudas, RG Flath, and Matt Summers, who contributed one a piece.

The Cutthroats kept Wichita's goalie busy throughout the game, and David Brown made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Denver was led by Garrett Bembridge, who finished with one goal and one assist. Bembridge scored 6:57 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Denver. Schwab picked up the assist. Denver additionally got points from Schwab, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Denver also got a goal from Robin Soudek as well. More assists for Denver came via Steve Kaunisto, TJ Fox, Daniel Barczuk, and Aaron MacKenzie, who each chipped in one.

The Thunder totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Cutthroats' Travis Bosch stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Denver totaled 10 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
