The Wichita Thunder's Andrew Martens scored 1:14 into overtime to beat the Denver Cutthroats, 4-3 (OT). Wichita overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Thunder fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Denver's Troy Schwab at 27 seconds in the second period. Wichita tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Ian Lowe at 18:55 in the third period. The Thunder were led by Martens, who had one goal and one assist. Wichita relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 15 shots.
