Ludwig lifts Allen over St. Charles, 3-1

Tyler Ludwig was all over the ice for the Allen Americans, as he tallied two goals in Allen's 3-1 win over the St. Charles Chill.

Ludwig scored on the power play at 14:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Allen and again while on the power play 11:55 into the third to make the score 3-1 Allen.

The Americans were led by goalie Mark Guggenberger, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Guggenberger certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.0 entering the contest.

Allen got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The 42 shots that the Americans put on net surpassed Allen's average of 28.9 shots per game this season.

Allen also got a goal from Darryl Bootland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Daniel Tetrault, Gregor Hanson, Kale Kerbashian, Alex Lavoie, and Spencer Asuchak, who contributed one a piece.

By firing 28 shots on goal, St. Charles exceeded the 14.3 shots it averages per game this year.

The Chill were led by Martin Hlinka, who scored the team's only goal. Hlinka scored on the power play 6:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Charles. St. Charles had gained a power play chance when Asuchak was whistled for hooking. Charles Lachance assisted on the tally.

The Americans incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Linus Lundin recorded 39 saves for the Chill. St. Charles incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
