Arizona beats Wichita 3-0 as Engelage gains shutout

Andrew Engelage recorded a shutout against the Wichita Thunder as the Arizona Sundogs picked up a 3-0 win.

Arizona was led by Johan Ryd, who racked up one goal and one assist. Ryd scored 10:37 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Arizona. David Rutherford provided the assist.

The Sundogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Arizona also got points from Rutherford, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kevin Baker also scored for Arizona. In addition, Arizona received assists from Brandon Coccimiglio, who had two and Bryan Cameron and Jordan Clendenning, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita's offense operated below it season average. The Thunder average 2.9 goals per game. Wichita's offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.9 shots per game it averages.

The Thunder were led by Ian Lowe, who took five shots.

Arizona's Engelage stopped 29 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Sundogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. David Brown made 23 saves for Wichita on 26 shots. The Thunder incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
