In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Rapid City escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Wichita Thunder.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jesse Schultz's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Rapid City was sparked by Schultz, who tallied one goal and one assist. Schultz scored 16:21 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Rapid City. Konrad Reeder picked up the assist.

Rapid City failed to reach its usual level of shot production, putting 19 pucks on goal after averaging 33.0 shots per game this season. Rapid City's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Others who scored for Rapid City included Winston Day Chief, Brett Kostolansky, and Tristin Llewellyn, who each put in one. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Riley Weselowski and Sean Erickson, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Andrew Martens, Dustin Donaghy and RG Flath took 13 of the team's 25 shots.
