Reid lifts Denver over Missouri, 4-1

Cam Reid was all over the ice for the Denver Cutthroats, as he tallied two goals in Denver's 4-1 win over the Missouri Mavericks.

Reid scored at 46 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Denver and again while 12:18 into the third to make the score 2-1 Denver.

The Cutthroats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Missouri to score on any of its three power plays. Denver relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Garrett Bembridge, Reid and Robin Soudek took 17 of the team's 32 shots.

In addition, Denver received assists from Troy Schwab, who had two and Nick Schneider, Jean-Philipp Chabot, Michael Schumacher, and Kent Patterson, who contributed one a piece.

The Mavericks could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Missouri averages 3.7 goals per game. The Mavericks relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Rob Kleebaum, Sebastien Thinel and Andrew Courtney took 13 of the team's 24 shots.

More assists for Missouri came via Matt Stephenson, who had one.

Kent Patterson made 23 saves for the Cutthroats on 24 shots. Denver incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Joe Howe recorded 28 saves for Missouri. The Mavericks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
