Rollheiser leads Brampton to shutout victory over AllenPowerade Centre Sun, Nov 10, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Grant Rollheiser made 34 saves to complete the shutout and led the Brampton Beast to a 2-0 win against the Allen Americans. Brampton was led by Tylor Michel, who grabbed one goal. Michel scored 9:06 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Brampton. Jamie VanderVeeken provided the assist. The Beast stifled Allen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 27 shots that Brampton put on net surpassed the Beast's average of 23.1 shots per game this season. Brampton also got a goal from Jason Pitton as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Matt Caruana and Calin Wild, who each chipped in one. The Americans were held below their usual level of production. Allen averages 3.4 goals per game. The Americans' offense rang up 34 shots on Brampton's net. Allen could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. The Americans were led by Jonathan Lessard, who took seven shots. The Beast incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Bryan Pitton rejected 25 shots on goal for Allen. The Americans registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
