Denver squeaks by Wichita, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Denver Cutthroats escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Wichita Thunder.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Troy Schwab's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Denver was led by Schwab, who tallied one goal and one assist. Schwab scored 11:22 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Denver. Garrett Bembridge picked up the assist.

The Cutthroats were below their usual level of shot production, taking 22 shots compared to the 30.3 Denver averages.

Denver additionally got points from Bembridge, who also registered one goal and one assist. Vincent Arseneau also scored for Denver. Other players who recorded assists for Denver were Steve Kaunisto, Lee Moffie, A.J. Gale, and Kent Patterson, who contributed one a piece.

Wichita put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.0 it averages per game.

The Thunder were helped by RG Flath, who racked up one goal. Flath scored on the power play 11:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1.
