Rapid City downs Brampton in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Rapid City's Tristin Llewellyn scored 4:51 into overtime to beat the Brampton Beast, 2-1 (OT).

Rapid City's Tim Boron was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 33 saves and let only one puck past him. Boron certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.62 entering the contest.

Rapid City's penalty kill excelled, as Rapid City gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Team could not crack Brampton's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 11 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With 39 shots on target during the contest, Rapid City exceeded the 33.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Riley Weselowski also scored for Rapid City. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Winston Day Chief, Jared Brown, and Eric Giosa, who contributed one a piece.

The 34 shots that the Beast put on net surpassed Brampton's average of 27.1 shots per game this season. The Beast's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Brampton finished with 30 penalty minutes.

The Beast were led by Matt Caruana, who scored the team's only goal. Caruana scored 19:00 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Jamie VanderVeeken picked up the assist.

Rapid City incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Kristofer Westblom rejected 37 shots on goal for Brampton.
