Missouri downs Rapid City in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Kellen Tochkin gave the Missouri Mavericks a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Rapid City Rush when he scored 3:50 into the extra period.

The win moved Missouri to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Andrew Courtney had two goals to lead the Mavericks to victory. Courtney's tallies came at 6:49 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and 10:37 into the third to make the score 2-2.

Missouri put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rapid City to score on any of its four power plays.

Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Kenton Miller, who had one and Dave Pszenyczny and Sebastien Thinel, who each chipped in two.

The Rush were helped by Scott Brannon, who had one goal. Brannon scored 3:08 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Rapid City. Dan Gendur provided the assist. Rapid City also got points from Damian Surma, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Rapid City came via Scott Wray and Taggart Desmet, who contributed one a piece.

Mathieu Corbiel made 23 saves for the Mavericks on 25 shots. Missouri totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Tim Boron rejected 27 shots on goal for Rapid City. The Rush incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
