Rushmore Plaza Civic Arena     Sat, Mar 30, 2013

The Rapid City Rush relied on the sparkling performance of Tim Boron in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Missouri Mavericks.

The win gave Rapid City a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Rush pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Rapid City was led by Taggart Desmet, who registered one goal. Desmet scored on the power play 11:01 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. The Rush earned a power play opportunity when Trevor Kell was put in the box for hooking. Jamie VanderVeeken picked up the assist.

Jared Brown also scored for Rapid City. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Winston Day Chief and Jordan Behler, who each chipped in one.

The Mavericks' offense rang up 37 shots on the Rush's net.
