Fort Worth's Fox deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Quad City

The Fort Worth Brahmas relied on the scoring touch of Phil Fox, who netted two goals, to beat the Quad City Mallards, 4-1.

Fox found the back of the net 7:45 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 14:29 into the third to make the score 3-1 Fort Worth.

The win gave Fort Worth a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Brahmas got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Fort Worth also got points from Eric Tallent, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Nick Schneider, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Fort Worth came via Brendon Hodge and Colby Pridham, who each chipped in one.

Quad City was led by Patrik Levesque, who scored the team's only goal. Levesque scored 6:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Quad City. Mike Stinziani provided the assist.

Kristofer Westblom made 19 saves for Fort Worth on 20 shots. The Brahmas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. John Murray rejected 22 shots on goal for the Mallards. Quad City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
