Bruins was led by Paul Kessell, who scored the team's only goal. Kessell scored 1:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bruins. Dion Pfaneuf assisted on the tally.

Leafs was led by Ray Bourque, who scored the team's only goal. Bourque scored 1:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bobby Orr provided the assist.

Bruins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Leafs ended with no penalties and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
