The Fort Worth Brahmas and the Wichita Thunder both failed to score in overtime, but Fort Worth won the game 3-2 (2-0 SO) after Brendon Hodge's deciding goal in the shootout. The two teams needed seven turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, the Brahmas got a shootout goal from Hodge.Fort Worth was led by Hodge, who registered one goal. Hodge scored 10:39 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Phil Fox provided the assist. The Brahmas managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Fort Worth finished below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. With 25 shots on target during the contest, the Brahmas exceeded the 17.2 shots they average per game this year. Fort Worth was helped by Hodge, who grabbed one goal. Fort Worth also got points from Fox, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Fort Worth received assists from Tomas Klempa, who had one and John Snowden, who had two. Wichita put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.4 it averages per game. The Thunder were helped by Kevin Young, who finished with one goal.
