The Missouri Mavericks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Bloomington Blaze. Missouri got the win on the strength of a great game by Ryan Jardine, who had one goal and two assists. Jardine scored 18:25 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Missouri. Jared Lavender assisted on the tally. The Mavericks' penalty kill excelled, as Missouri gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Mavericks stifled Bloomington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Missouri put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.9 it averages per game. Missouri additionally got points from Kellen Tochkin, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Kenton Miller, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Sebastien Thinel, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Riley Emmerson also scored for Missouri. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Trevor Kell and Jesse Perrin, who each chipped in one. By firing 29 shots on goal, the Blaze exceeded the 19.2 shots they average per game this year. Bloomington was led by David Gilbert, who dished out one assist. Mike Clemente made 27 saves for the Mavericks on 29 shots. Missouri incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ross MacKinnon rejected 31 shots on goal for the Blaze. Bloomington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
